House 102 Remodel

Hello Everybody, its a beautiful day to start mowing the lawns.  We have been gone for 3 weeks, so the grass was very tall.  Elder Gibson started early to tackle the project.  The morning mist was still surrounding the valley.

Tuesday May 31st

But with lots of patience, the task was completed.  And it looks wonderful!!

Next project;  we have 3 weeks to complete this task.  And have this cute home livable for
a new Ranch worker and his family.

 House 102 built in 1960
Renters have moved and we will start with pulling out the carpet, taking down the blinds.
and removing the damaged sheetrock.
New Paint, new flooring, new light fixtures.

Hall, can you see the drop in the floor, we will need to lift the
house, to level the floors.
The ground in Texas moves and shifts a lot depending on the weather.
Hot ground shrinks and cracks, Wet the ground is soggy and the House sinks.

2nd bathroom, needs plumbing repairs and new floor.

Kill Deer nest and its right in the middle of the road.

 Toad stuck in a pipe.

Wednesday June 1st,
Tackling the 105 house remodel.
Kitchen Cabinets interior is black with vinyl shelving paper on the walls
and then painted over it.
Kitchen Cabinets will be repainted, repaired and made to look nice.
New floor in Kitchen
Bathroom/Utility, has leaking faucets, so tear out sheetrock, and repair plumbing.
All floors will be redone.

Thursday June 3rd,
More work on the 105 Remodel
Decision was made to bust out the wall and closet and make one larger room.
 Elder Gibson
 Wall removed beam installed.
Gerald a Ranch hand, working on the 2nd Bathroom plumbing.

Elder Gibson holds the shower head while Gerald tightens the pipe.

The rains came down and the floods came up, we have water everywhere!

Then the sky cleared and the water receded.

The road cleared off when we came back from lunch.  But when we left the house at 6:00pm,
the Navasota River was over flowing and was again running on the road.

 Flooded Navasota River.
 Fun puffy clouds
This cloud looked like Old Fainthful

Goodnight.

Cabela's Outpost in Waco, Texas

We still had lots of day left, so we decided to travel to Waco, and go see the Cabela's store.  It is called an Outpost, I sure that's because of its size.  It is a lot smaller.

We thought this was a beautiful White-tail Buck taken in 1890

Oh and of course they had all the stuff for sale that Cabela's has in the other stores.
I just like the animals.
