Travel to Florence Texas

We started the morning at 6:00 am, headed to Florence, Texas.  We will be picking up the rock for the home we are working on and also for the Headquarter building.  It is called Austin Limestone.  It is very light rock.  It is on a lot of the buildings we see in Texas.  It is a 6 1/2 hour drive one way.  We are traveling in two vehicles, pulling goose neck trailers.  Elder Gibson and Elder Park worked on the trailers last night until 12:30 am.  So this morning was very early!  The travel down to get the rock went smoothly just a long drive.  We arrived at the Salado Rock Quarry!

 We counted 6 quarry just on the road to Salado, this company has

been removing rock from this quarry for over 20 yearas.

And they believe the can remove rock for at least 5 more years!

 Every where you looked there was limestone.

 We are driving on the road which is the Austin Limestone, they just keep 

cutting a new layer!
