Groesbeck, Limestone County, Texas and surrounding town's

We wanted to see what the town of Groesbeck looked like, so we journeyed there on Memorial day.

 Beautiful Limestone County Courthouse

 Monument erected Nov, 11, 1929
dedicated to the memory of the Heroes of the Limestone County
who gave their lives in defense of their country in the World War

So Texas has State Historical Sites, and this one was listed on the map as the
Confederate Reunion Grounds

so of course I had to see it.  It costed $8.00 for an entrance fee.
A park with huge Burr Oak Tree's and lots of mowed grass.

Red dots are single derrick's.

So this site was used as a place for the Confederate to hold a Reunion
from 1889 to 1946.  It was held yearly

I don't know about you but I'm not swimming in that dirty water.
When the water is high the river overflows its bounds.
The ground is still wet from the last high water.

The inside of the pavilion is a magnificent site.
An engineering masterpiece.

We left the park and headed towards home.
Then we saw this semi trailer from home.

We attended the Confederate Park on Monday and on Wednesday we had severe thunderstorms,
and flash flooding.
This is what happens to the park.

Wednesday

Two days before on Monday
The water goes up and then it recedes, lots of mud and debry left.
We have been having lots of rain storms so the water just goes up and down
