What a wonderful Sabbath day, with Elder and Sister Johnston return home to Hooper, Utah. There Primary class needed a teacher so we substituted today. And what a cute class, 7 young sons and daughters of God. They are adorable, and so smart, they also have a very sweet spirit. The lesson today was about Prayer, "Prayers Are Answered in the Best Way". The children were very attentive to Elder Gibson, as he gave the lesson and shared stores about how prayers are answered.
He related a story to the Primary Class that I had not heard him tell before. Elder Gibson was about 5 years old, and playing with his brother Blaine. There father had just brought home an old Dump Truck that needed repairs. What better place to play, than in an old Dump Truck.
So off the two brothers went and played in the Dump Truck, they drove all over in their imagination. Loaded up dirt, and delivered it around the country. It was starting to get warm in the truck but the two boys, just kept playing and having fun. Before to long they were getting really hot, starting to sweat, they tried to roll down the windows, but the windows did not work. They attempted to open the truck doors but they held tight and would not open. They started to worry, Jeff said to Blaine maybe we should say a prayer. So the two boys bowed their heads, and asked Heavenly Father to keep them safe and to help them to get out of the old dump truck. Jeff felt calmed immediately that all would be just fine. When the boys tried the door again it was open. Elder Gibson new from that day on that Heavenly Father loved him, and that prayers are very powerful, Heavenly Father does hear and answer our prayers. They remembered to give thanks to there Father in Heaven.
For helping them out of a difficult situation.
We loved teaching this class, and I enjoyed hearing about Elder Gibson's Testimony of Prayer.
This mission is full of Tender Mercies, and Miracles, around every turn. I am grateful for a loving Father in Heaven, that has allowed Elder Gibson and I to serve! We both have a Testimony of Service. It draws us close to others and to our Heavenly Father. We also have a Testimony of Prayer. Our Prayers are heard and answered, not always how we would like or as quickly as we would like but on the Lords time. We bear testimony that the church is true. We belong to the true church, with all the keys returned to this earth, and the saving ordinances to become forever families.
Our prophet President Thomas S Monson, leads us and guides us through these time. And the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Is written for our day, and is a second witness to Jesus Christ our brother and Savior. I testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
