A Night of Service

While at church on Sunday, the Smith family asked Elder Gibson if he could help them install a shower fixture in their bathroom.  So he scheduled today at 2:00 pm to go and install the shower fixture.  I left my camera home, so no photo's.  Which I am sad about. The Smith's live in a little town that is gone, called Woodland, this was were they had a colored school and colored cemetery.  And their home is part of the colored school building.
So we arrived at there home, and the shower fixture, was an entire shower not just the shower head.  And remove the existing bath tub, and tile.  To put in a new Walk in Shower in its place.   So Elder Gibson went right to work and tore out the old bath tub, and wall.  He had to re-plumb, and  put in new sheetrock, and build a new wall.  But Elder Gibson was up to the task.  We put in the new Shower and plumbed the shower.  The Young Elders showed up about 3:00pm to help.  So we had a lot of help and fun, working on the project.  The Smiths ordered Pizza, and invited us for dinner.  So we all had Pizza.  We worked until 9:30 pm.  And we took the Young Elders home back to Mexia.
It was a wonderful night of service.   And the Smiths were very grateful for the help.
